Automatic notification shut off during phone calls on iPhone

Need software update to automatically shut off notifications during phone calls. Currently, you must manually turn off notifications while talking on the phone, else during a call you and the party you are speaking with will hear incoming message notifications. This can be quite distracting depending on the type and number of unique announcements you use.
