Are there any wifi adpater/dongle that are compatible with my Macbook Air 2014 version 11.7.10 ?

I have just recently found one of my old MacBooks which I haven't touched in 6 years, I got it repaired but only to find out that the wifi wasn't working, so then I went to Apple and they told me to get a wifi dongle to connect to my laptop which would enable me to get wifi. So I got it and I tried it. It was working until I couldn't access certain apps due to how old the laptop was and said it needed to be updated so i updated the laptop. After that, the dongle stopped working because I had updated it over the capped version (10.15) so I bought another one from Amazon specifically for my version and then tried it. Still, it didn't work and I've been looking everywhere for one that has my specific version, because I keep seeing other people talk about Serria? or Ventura. I'm not sure what I have ( Also I called Apple today and they said they couldn't recommend me any products because they don't sell any type of adapters from Apple)

What should I do ???
