Black screen with folder icon during MacBook Air factory reset

Im trying to reset to factory setting on my Macbook Air and the screen just goes black with a folder with a question mark. I have tried the disk utility recovery (command R) and nothing there has helped. I’ve tried the first aid options for everything in the disk utility option, I’ve tried reinstalling macOS and it just says no bag entry. I’ve tried erasing the disk in disk utility and that didn’t work. Please help me try to figure out what to do with this laptop.
