Apple Watch (Gen 6) battery charge goes from full charge (97%) to 10% in 2 minutes

I literally just put on the watch straight from charging overnight to a 97% charge and within a couple of minutes, I get the 10% low battery warning. I tried restarting in case it was a fluke but the 10% charge persisted.
