Chart Border Moving when Y1 Values are Altered

The only time this was problems before was when I converted an Excel file into Numbers: The edge of the chart border would move left and right and the chart would become wider or narrower depending on how large the values where in the Y1 data set.

The sheet in the image was created from scratch in Number but it's moving around and out of alignment with the two tables above and the ones below not all shown in the image?

Other Numbers workbooks I've created have fixed chart x, and y positions and its the inner part of the chart where the line is displayed that shrinks or expands.

In this image I increased the number of positions from 1 to 44 to really show the effect of different Y1 data on the charts alignment with other surrounding tables.

Any way of sorting this out?

Cheers!

From this thread: Make Charts keep same Dimensions

It appears that if a chart has an external border then it must be an Excel chart imported into Numbers (although I don’t recall importing as this was a new sheet with a new idea - 10 Leg Options calculator). The easiest way to keep everything fixed is to delete the external border and then got to Insert / Shape / Rectangle and use that as the border. Set it to white then double click and move it to the back under the chart. Set a thin line border in the right settings menu. Create the largest Y1 values and use that as the “anchor” line for the left hand side of the charts external border.
