Received a text about 'transmitting illegal texts'

The spammer lied about the message, and the spammer lied about the sending number, too.

Lots of that going around.

You can filter messages from unknown senders: Block, filter, and report messages on iPhone - Apple Support

Another option is to install an app such as Bouncer, which can be used to filter spam, surveys, push polls, political messages, and other forms of dreck.

It's still a scam. We ALL get scam messages. Ignore them. Delete them. Never interact with them. Block them.

Scam that is trying to get you to buy useless software to fix a problem that does not even exist.....or worse.....trying to get you to reveal your personal information.

Apple will never send a message like this. You need to ignore and delete the message.

I advised you to ignore and delete the message. You did NOT click on a link in the message.......did you?

And you may get more of them. I get texts telling me that I have a package that is being held until I provide more information about 3x a week. You can block the number but it really doesn't matter. That number probably isn't the actual one they are sending from and it will be changed by the next time. Delete and move on.

You can "block" the number, but that is not the real number, so the messages from the same source will continue to land. The real number is disguised and will never be revealed to you.

We all get junk and scam messages. This won't change. It's just something that we have to put up with.

Doesn't matter, it's still a scam. Thank god not everybody here post every scam they get; the forum would be filled with miliions and millions of useless posts.
