OK. Next try a Forced Restart --> Force restart iPhone - Apple Support (CA)

Follow the direction exactly and on the final step, do NOT release the power button until you see the Apple Logo.

If that doesn't help, then you should schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar and let Apple test your phone.

i changed 13 pro max to 16 pro.

Apple isn't going to see your comment about buying something else here. This is a user to user only forum and we users don't care if think another option would better meet your needs. Yes, Attention Aware is broken. Apple didn't play with your device. It's not working for anyone I know at the moment.

Instead of threatening to go to another manufacturer, the more people who provide feedback to Apple, the more likely this will get addressed in an upcoming update. And you do that by using this feedback link as I did --> Feedback - iPhone - Apple

Hi I also talked with Sr advisor but I don’t think so he was able to solve this problem. He gave me solution that i have to turn on Voice control. But I don’t understand why. But this problem is in ios 18.3, so he told me after many unsuccessful efforts, i have to wait till new update and observe the situation. 😀 funny 😆

I am using 15Pro and after the update the Attention aware feature (face ID and passcode) is not working properly , I raised a complain to apple support but they closed my ticket by saying its a policy update and very soon everyone will face the same issue , but this needs to be fixed its an important feature , my iphone doesn’t lowering the volume of call ring or alarm ring while facing iphone to my face.

All steps done as guided by support including reset setting of phone nothing changed ! Apple need to fix this in the next update .

I posted feedback as well at : Feedback - iPhone - Apple

Due to the fact that they disabled Attention Aware for the locked screen, I was forced to reduce the volume of the ringtone to a minimum, because I don't like to hold a noisy phone in front of my face. Until 18.3 I had a volume in the middle, I looked at the screen and the sound was muted. And now because of Apple I miss a huge number of calls and messages 😡

Be sure to let Apple know the issue is broken via their feedback link.

Hi. I have a version of why Apple removed Attention aware on the locked screen. In iOS 17, users complained massively about the non-working sound of the alarm , and in iOS 17.5 Attention aware was limited to the locked screen to extinguish the sound - it was necessary to move the phone a little when calling, and take it in your hands, and then it worked on the locked screen. But this did not save from the problem with the alarm , people continued to complain, and Apple decided to completely disable Attention Aware (while TrueDEPTH continues to look for the face on the locked screen, it can be seen if you point the camera at Face ID). The problem with the alarm clock was not due to Attention aware, since the alarm was not with a quiet sound, but without sound and vibration at all. It is necessary to inform Apple en masse so that they can return attention aware and reconsider the problem with the alarm.

Hi, I registered here just to say that I’m on the latest software for my phone. I have an iPhone XS Max, running iOS 18.6.2, and this still doesn’t work. I also contacted Apple Support about this issue.

That is not the latest version of iOS. If you want to stay with iOS 18 for the time being, the latest version is iOS 18.7.
