Best Ftp client for Sequoia?

Just switched to macOS and running Sequoia. Back on Windows, I had a solid dual pane FTP client—made moving files between servers and local storage super easy. Looking for something just as stable and straightforward on Mac, like Total Commander.

Appreciate the help

The first thing that comes to mind is Commander One, which in my opinion is the most similar to Total Commander, both visually and in terms of functionality. It has the classic dual-pane layout with a built-in FTP client. It gets good reviews. Another good one is ForkLift. It doesn’t get as much attention, but it’s got that dual-pane setup and works great for FTP/SFTP transfers. It’s paid, but if you’re after something simple and no-frills, it’s definitely worth checking out.

FileZilla is also an option, although it doesn't have a true two-panel layout like the options mentioned above. It’s still a solid FTP/SFTP client, especially for basic file transfers—but if you need that dual-pane experience, it’s not the best choice. All three offer quite similar functionality, so it really comes down to whether you need anything extra from your FTP client. Try a few and see which one clicks with your workflow. Each of these is supported and will run natively on Sonoma.

What if you take a look at Reddit, Google is now more trusted in the opinion of users, therefore you can dive into the ocean of various recommendations.

A few names pop up repeatedly—muCommander, Commander One, DCommander, and even Cyberduck (though it’s not dual-pane, some still swear by it). Seems like there’s no one perfect solution, just depends on what you’re looking for. Some prefer the old-school, functional approach of Double Commander, others like DCommander for its slightly more polished UI. If I were in your place, I’d try out a couple and see which one clicks. Sometimes the best fit isn’t the most hyped-up option but just the one that works best for your workflow.

I certainly tried many others in comparison;

I have used Fetch FTP client since 1998 without issue...

Currently macOS 15.3

Fetch" FTP client on Mac does not natively have a dual-pane interface, however you can have more than one server open to drag and drop easy enough.

I see some recommendation for dual-pane FTP client on Mac with similar functionality, "ForkLift" is a popular choice..

Post back on what you settle on, I would be interested to hear your final choice. Good luck !

I am one of those partial to Cyberduck.

I don't think it is that relevant to be a two-pane, just use it with Finder - you can drag and drop in either direction.

And: I do hope that you are using "ftp" as a catch-all name, and not as actual ftp, the old and unsafe protocol.
