Wondering why not ... what happens when you try? ... can you open the App Store and log-in ?

ie: As Apple users, like yourself, we have no way of knowing if you get an error message, or what have you already tried, etc. There are many different possible reasons this situation could occur.

Eg: Maybe the iOS version on your iPhone 8 Plus is not up-to-date:

About iOS 16 Updates - Apple Support says iOS 16.7.10 is the latest update.

NB: Please remember to back-up your iPhone first, if you intend to update.

Else: If iOS 16.7.10 was already installed: try restarting your iPhone.
