Why can't I select 2G or 3G on my iPhone 12 mini for update?

My iPhone 12 mini has updates disabled for one reason. I need to select between 2G or 3G networks. Currently, I have iOS version 15.7. Some apps no longer work on that version. I should update to iOS 18. Is there any possibility that after updating the software, I will have the option to choose between 3G or 2G networks? My mobile operator does not want to deal with that request

2G and 3G networks have been completely shut down in most of the world. They no longer exist.

Actually, it is.

When I downloaded the iOS update, 2G and 3G disappeared. I managed to somehow revert it back, and since then it has been stuck on 15.7. It's an iPhone 12 mini

Are you saying you downgraded iOS?

I've noticed that everyone does this. Aple / Microsoft .... They simply decide that you don't need something anymore.

Nope. that is determined by the carrier support file that your cellular carrier provides to Apple, which is then pushed out to your phone.

I need the 3G network because in some places it works better and isn't overloaded. The same goes for 2G. It has an incredible range, for example in basement spaces and warehouses made of metal.

Then complain to your carrier. Not that it will do you much good. 2G and 3G are rapidly being shut down world wide. Most of the developed world no longer has any 2G or 3G networks.

You probably got the options back because your carrier updated their settings.

It's not Apple who is deciding this. It's your carrier

You don't read. You respond too quickly. The mobile operator doesn't want to help me. They think it's not important. The fact is, with the same GSM card on version 16, there's no option to choose 2G and 3G. After reverting to 15.7, everything came back. Yes, I managed to revert the iPhone back. I lost more than 7 days researching and trying to revert it. If it says it can't be reverted to a signed version, it doesn't mean it's 100% accurate. It can be done, there are ways.

There is 2G here. Old super stong network . They haven't announced its shutdown. There is no 5G. 2G works for me in extremely enclosed spaces such as basements and warehouses made of metal. That. That 900Mhz frequency can pass through. The problem is when the phone persistently tries to switch to a 4G network, which is weak at that moment. It's silly that they removed the possibility to manualy choose the network you want .

Here’s another interesting detail about privacy: On a 2G network, it's not as easy to track you, plus the internet is ultra-slow
