I am using an iPad Air 2 (A1566) iOS 15.8.3. When I insert a Micro card in an adapter via the lightning port and open "Files", the device does not show up under "Locations". But as it does show on my iPhone and on my wife's iPad, the micro card can not be corrupted nor is the adapter faulty / not compatible. Is the iPad too old or is there another way to access the files.

What is the make & model of this adapter? Where did you get it? You may need to contact the device's support folks for further assistance with this.
Hmm ... something that has caught my attention is the created and modified dates of this drive. Not sure if this is an issue, but seems very odd.
When you plug this reader into the other devices it works with, do these same dates show up as well?
Thanks Tesserax for your reply. The SD card is formatted as ExFAT (see attached). But the same card and adapter opens on the other devices without a problem, so surely it can not be a problem with the SD card.

When I plug the adapter into my iPhone, my wife's iPhone and iPad it shows "Created 1 Jan 1979" and "Modified 1 Jan 1979" the same for Created and 10yrs different for Modified. Also I note that when I plug it in on all three devices the adapter's blue light comes on, but not on my iPad.
Note also that the screenshot above is from my Macbook.Obviously not my iPad as it can not be read.
1 January 1980 at 12:00 AM is the kind of date one would see on a Windows PC with a bad CMOS battery...

Got from Temu. Not sure of make . However that should not Bev the problem as it works fine on the three other devices.
I would suspect buying from Temu is pretty much "you get what you pay for." I'm afraid I don't have a solution for this issue or can tell you why only this iPad is not recognizing it.
