No sound notification for text on Apple Watch Series 8 when near phone. I wear hearing aids

I wear hearing aids with Bluetooth to iPhone 16Pro. When phone is close to watch and I receive a text, no text sound is heard on the phone. When not next to the phone, maybe 25 feet, the phone sounds when text received

The way Apple designed notifications to work when wearing Apple Watch is:

If your iPhone screen is locked (not on), notifications will be delivered to your Apple Watch, not your iPhone
If your iPhone screen is on, notifications will be delivered to your iPhone, not your Apple Watch
Notifications will not be delivered to both devices at the same time
