Transferring data to new Mac air

Applications are the "programs" the Mac has installed. Some re part of Apple's operating system and cannot e removed. Others which you have downloaded and installed can be removed if you choose to do so.

All your applications. You need them. How are you transferring your data across? You can't just pick and choose directories, particularly in the libraries and other systems areas.
