I did and that is why I suggested what I did! If you want to check the internal HD portion of your Fusion Drive, download and run DriveDX and if it shows even 1 error that means the drive is failing. Don't examine the SSD portion of the Fusion Drive, examine the HD portion that is what I suspect is failing.

None the less, you should plan on replacing the computer very very soon.

Okay, if the hard drive is okay then the things to check are:

  • Out of date third party apps which requires you check each of your third party apps and ensure they are up-to-date.
  • Next is to take the Fusion Drive out of the equation which would mean to buy an external SSD and make the external SSD your startup drive. On a computer that is almost 10 years old, IMHO that does not make sense though.

I've attached a full Etrecheck Report. Just check my OP where it says "Add Etrecheck Report". It's in there...

40 GB 2400 MHz DDR4

2.00 TB Storage, 1.73 TB Free

3.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5

Radeon Pro 580 8 GB

Seems like the Write & Read speeds should be faster, no?

Performance:

System Load: 1.63 (1 min ago) 1.73 (5 min ago) 1.45 (15 min ago)

Nominal I/O usage: 0.06 MB/s

File system: 26.97 seconds

Write speed: 147 MB/s

Read speed: 147 MB/s
