Why are iPhone photos not updating in Windows PC's photo directory?

Photos taken with iPhone no longer are updated to the photo directory on my Windows PC. I made no settings on Windows and this apparently happened without my knowledge

How do I stop getting 2 versions of all my photos when downloading onto a PC? When I import my photos from my iPhone 13 Pro it creates 2 versions one with an E in the image number, how do I stop it doing this please?

Photos will not sync to my windows PC I recently updated to IOS 17.11 and now my photos will not sync to my windows pc. Any suggestions? Last week my photos were there and this week they all have the (yield/!) sign on them. I have verified access to them on my phone, yet, they still do not show. I logged in/out and restarted my computer - still nothing.
