Is there a way to stop new features auto-enabling after an update?

I know Apple's design philosophy is basically the most patronising person you've ever met telling you "actually, I think you'll find I have a much better idea of what you want than you do", and I suspect I know the answer to this question. But just in case, is there an option hidden somewhere on an iPhone that makes it ask you before it forces Apple's latest good idea on you? In particular this has been prompted by the Stolen Device Protection (I needed to reset my apple ID password, my phone told me I had to wait an hour, so I went and got my work laptop, which is a mac, and did it on that instead - rendering the delay entirely pointless), but ever since that U2 album it feels like there is more and more unwanted bloat that gets shoved onto my phone every time it updates.

iPhone 12, iOS 18

Unfortunately, Apple doesn’t offer a way to fully stop new features from auto-enabling after updates. iOS updates often come with new features or changes that are automatically activated, and there isn't a setting to opt out of them. However, you can usually disable or adjust certain features (like Stolen Device Protection or notifications) manually in the settings after the update. It’s frustrating, but Apple tends to roll out updates with minimal customization options for user control.

Irrelevant in this case, SDP does not auto enable. It requires entry of passcode and biometrics to enable and disable.
