Suggestions for best Cloud backup: Dropbox, Sync.com, Idrive?

Would appreciate tips for the best cloud synchronization program. We backup to external drives, Time Machine, but need good synchronized cloud storage for our work files. We currently use Dropbox, but the Selective Sync can be frustrating when one needs to access an online only file.

iCloud is NOT a backup service, however if syncing files across your devices is something you want to do, that is the best available. Just each device up (takes moments) and forget about it and you are in business. At my home we sync 3 Macs, 2 iPads, 2 iPhones and our 4 Apple TVs (photos only).

To truly backup on your Macs using Time Machine and on the IOS devices you can use iCloud to back them up.

I’d look at Synology NAS servers locally, both for backup and shared hosting, and then consider using either an integrated or separate hosted backup to back up the backups.

This assumes your work systems are co-located on a network, or can be connected via a (not “coffee-shop”) VPN.

If you’re looking for geographically distributed sync, that can be more involved.
