Mac mini losing connection to Magic Mouse

System Spec:

Chip Apple M2 Pro

Memory 32 GB

MacOS 15.3.2 (24D81)

This issue has only recently manifested so may be tied in with an OS update as I have not made any additions/ software installs to my system in a long time. It's intermittent as sometimes I switch on and no problem - it's always when I just want to quickly do something....

The system will boot but will have no connection to my Magic Mouse. This means that I need to search my old-tech drawer, locate an old wired mouse, use that to navigate the screen and re-connect my Magic Mouse.

I've searched online for a solution but most of the suggestions fail to acknowledge that there is NO WAY to navigate the screen to perform the various actions with no mouse (i.e. it'll say "Click on Bluetooth Settings". I have no way to do this apart from plugging in a wired mouse.

What I'm really looking for is a solution that fixes the root cause to ensure it doesn't happen again.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, thanks for reaching out to me on this issue.

my Mac mini sits right beside my Magic Mouse and there are no wireless/ Bluetooth devices nearby. I have also double checked by switching off potential sources of interference in the house.

its weird as sometimes I switch on and there’s no problem at all whereas other times it just doesn’t connect.

when this happens I use a wired mouse to go into settings and reconnect my MMouse and from that point onwards I have no issues during that session.

I’m guessing it’s a software bug/ problem.

thanks again for your help on this.
