Apple Pay transactions pending

I have spent a lot of time over the last 4 days trying to get an answer from Apple (support chats & phone calls) & keep getting different answers. I have now spoken to 5 different people, two separate chats & I’m frustrated.


Purchases I have made (some in-app, some monthly subscriptions) are ALL pending & have been since 3/20/25. Apple first said it was my bank. My bank has NOT received any of these purchases. Then Apple said it’s the specific in-app purchase (Udemy). This would make sense if the pending purchases didn’t also include OTHER purchases (Canva subscription, Apple Music). Apple says it shows purchases are completed. My side says “pending” and I don’t have access to the things I’ve purchased.


Is there anyone who can give me a clear answer why this is happening & if there’s anything I could do to fix this? Thank you in advance!

They insist the transactions are complete. In support chat, they have asked for screenshots over & over to show it says pending. I keep providing them.


It’s purchases AND subscriptions. Wouldn’t that indicate an issue on Apple’s side? My bank has nothing pending and say if the payments were processed, if anything, they’d be pending in my bank account. They aren’t.

I’ve been given that link by chat support so many times. It says pending for all items. Chat support says they see it as “completed.”


While it doesn’t solve the problem, and I shouldn’t have to do it, I might try switching payment methods & see if anything changes. This is all so annoying.


Interestingly, Udemy support told me today that it is definitely on Apple’s side, that there is sometimes a “security hold” without reason, and it can take up to 14 days to process.

I appreciate your effort to try & sort it out. I opened a support chat again as I now have 25 items stuck in pending. Chat support was unhelpful, as I anticipated after my last two chats.


I switched my primary payment method from Apple Pay to my secondary, which is actually the same card. Just wanted to give that a try. I’ll give it a day and then try even swapping for another card.


This is extremely frustrating as not having access to a class I needed for my job is now way more expensive than when I initially purchased (where it’s stuck in pending).
