MAC MINI M4 EXternal Drives too slow - just 40MB/s
Yes, that's exactly what you read.
I have an external NVME HD with a read and write speed of 2500MB/s that works perfectly on my notebook within the nominal range.
However, when I use it on the Macmini M4 (base model), it doesn't go beyond 40MB/s, yes, that's right! The worst part is that I have an old Samsung M2 Portable HD (USB 3.0) that also has the same speed of 40MB/s, and it's too slow for reading and writing, but on the PC it works normally.
I've already formatted this NVME as APFS and nothing has changed. I got a base model with 256GB and I want to put 1TB external for cache/temp for Photoshop, Premiere, downloads, desktop, etc... but I haven't had any success.
I use 2 4K monitors (1 on HDMI and another on Thunderbolt with a Displayport cable). Even so, I disconnected everything, leaving only the HDMI one and the speed remains exactly the same.
Any ideas? Would this be a warranty issue?
