Screen Time Not Working After an Update:

A. Report this to Apple...

Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue.  Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of you occurrences, if you don't report it to them.

1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
3. Comment: that this all began after installing an update. Include the URL of this thread
4. Proceed from there as necessary

B. Restore from a Backup:

Restore your iPhone from a backup this is of the same iOS version prior to this occurring. IMPORTANT: Backup your iPhone prior to the restore.

C. Reenable Screen Time:

Turn Screen Time off, and then turn it back on.

D. Setting this Up:

Go Here: Use Screen Time on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Use that site to see if you are setting it up correctly.

E. Force Restart your iPhone:

D. Try a New Passcode:

For thought, perhaps you should try a new passcode. It's worth a go --just write ti down and store it somewhere so that you can get it unlocked, if you forget what it is. Reset the Screen Time Passcode for your Child's Device - Apple Support

I had the issue where Downtime was working on some apps and not others. Here’s what I tried that worked.

SUPER IMPORTANT go to settings - general - reset all settings (no data loss but will need to re-enter wifi password)

On parent device - turn OFF screentime for kids

On kid device - turn ON screentime and turn OFF “share across devices”

kid device - At downtime setting, turn ON

kid device - confirm all apps are now disabled due to downtime

parent device - setup Screentime with downtime window set so its active right now

kid device - confirm all apps remain disabled after last change
