What to do when force restart doesnt work?

Ive recently gotten the Iphone 16 plus and while i was transferring my information to my new phone, it randomly paused during downloading the ios 18.3.2 and from then on its been locked and i cant go past my lock screen. Every time i try to swipe up into my passcode it sends me back to my lock screen and it does not lets me turn off my phone. Ive tried to do the force restart with the quick volume buttons and then holding till i see the logo but even then it still takes me back to my lock screen. Ive done it multiple times and it still hasnt changed, its been overheating and im thinking of letting the battery die and see if that alters anything.
