MacBook Air M2 Speaker buzzing sound From all the speakers

see I took my 3 month old MacBook Air m2 to the service centre in vellore 100kms and I kept my Mac there for 4 days and they reinstalled the Mac and they are telling this minor buzzing sound is as expected, its completely normal they are telling. But I'm really not satisfied that its very common and normal for every Mac so I'm here,

DESCRIBING THE BUZZING SOUND :

  1. The buzzing sound comes from all the playbacks like every app : Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music etc.
  2. The sound will not effect any voice but effects the background piano high tones.
  3. I don't know wether its resonance.
  4. Its completely not related to the update and Its common across various Macs, I went to stores like Reliance digital and croma, vijay sales, every Mac I checked have this buzzing sound.
  5. to check your Mac also listen to GOOD IN GOODBYE song by Madison beer at 0.16-0.45 seconds in youtube
  6. this buzzing sound comes even in half volume also, as volume decreases buzzing volume decreases but it doesn't vanishes.
  7. no matter the device is connected to charger or what, it comes everytime
  8. Again I'm telling the buzzing is minor, only hearable when ear is placed closed to the speaker in a quiet room.

IF ANYONE KNOW ABOUT THIS PLEASE LET ME KNOW FOR MY EASE OF MIND, I DID ALL TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS NOTHING WORKED

IM TELLING **** SURE ITS NOT A BUG OR ELSE, ITS COMPLETELY COMING FROM THE SPEAKERS, APPLE SERVICE PROVIDERS ARE TELLING ITS EXPECTED, CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN ME IF ANYONE ARE FACING THE SAME ISSUE, BY THE EVERY MAC HAS IT .....

ANYONE HELP ME SOLVING THIS ISSUE....

"MacBook Air M2 Speaker buzzing sound From all the speakers: sir it will be quiet when not in use, buzzing sound comes only when played a audio In any app like YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music etc . voice will be clear without buzzing but background piano tones are having a buzzing, so this is the issue"

Thank you for the followup reply.

Troubleshooting Buzzing-Audio in an App:

Mute the App:

What happens when you mute the app? Does this not occur? If so, I'd say it is a software error; not a hardware error.

A. Boot into Safe Mode:

When you boot into Safe Mode, items load by default, with certain settings and caches set aside. So, hold down the shift key upon boot. See what happens then.

B. Single-Out this User:

Try a new Administrator user, seeing if you do not get this occur while in it. If so, then it is an issue with the configuration of the current user. If not, then it is an issue with the entire Mac, in which case you should reinstall the macOS. See below...

C. Reinstall the macOS:

Nothing would be deleted. It's just that items that have become corrupted or deleted, would be replaced or reinstalled back to where they should be. Go Here: How to reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery - Apple SupportImportant: Be certain to create a backup of your Mac prior to performing the reinstall. That way, you can have something to restore from the Mac from, should anything go wrong with the reinstall. Once reinstalled, try this once more, seeing if you still get this error.

Buzzing-Sounding Speaker on a Mac:

I would call it normal. So, who sold it to you? If Apple, then contact them. It may be a faulty device. If not Apple, then return it to the seller. If not an option, then here are some things to try...

See if this Device is Working Properly:

A. Is this a Speaker Showing Errors?:

To Find Out:

  1. Go to: Apple menu
  2. Select: About this Mac
  3. Click: System Report... button
  4. View: Hardware on left-column
  5. Click: Audio
  6. Click: MacBook Air
  7. Look For: any mention of an error.

B. Any Error?

If an error, then it may be that you need to reinstall the drivers. To get those...

Reinstall the macOS:

Go Here: How to reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery - Apple SupportImportant: Be certain to create a backup of your Mac prior to all of this. That way, you can have something to restore from the Mac from, should anything go wrong with the reinstall. Once reinstalled, try this once more.

II. Try Reseting the Core Audio:

Type the following command in Terminal:

sudo killall coreaudiod

III. Perform a SMC and NVRAM Reset:

Sometimes changes are made to the system(i.e. updates) and then settings (i.e. for Power) become manipulated, technically.  So, reset both the SMC and NVRAM on your Mac.

I'm telling I tried all the steps you told nothing worked, And the buzzing sound comes only when played a Music Or any audio, It doesn't come When speaker is not in use, Only when played any audio then the minor buzzing sound comes...., I just wanna a know it's normal or not because even apple Says it's expected, I contacted support team also service center, They tell it's expected, I just wanna know This from you

IMO: No. From what you’ve described and how you’ve troubleshot this, this is not normal. Not even typical.

But, these are just user-to-user forums. No one here has any say in what Apple does nor does not cover —and the same when it comes to AASPs).

But I still feel something is off, and I don't know whether to believe them or push for a replacement. Since you said this isn't normal, what do you think I should do next ?

Take this to an AASP:

See an AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) in your local area...

Contacting an AASP:

  1. Go Here: Find Locations - Apple Authorized Reseller
  2. Click: Service & Support
  3. Enter: your location information
  4. See: if there is an AASP nearby
  5. Contact: an AASP that shows up, and find out more about the services that they offer to fix the iPhone

I just wanna a confirmation that its normal, I did everything every troubleshooting steps didn't work, maybe I need a final comfirmation judgement from you that its completely normal and nothing to worry about !"

Auto-Correct Error...

I would NOT call it normal.

All the rest seems to conflict that notation in my first reply. Sorry for that. The speaker should by quiet when not in use. So, try the following...

A. Single-Out this User:

I checked with Apple support and also visited an authorized service center. They tested my Mac and told me the buzzing is expected behavior from the speaker and not a defect. They said it happens on all MacBooks and is part of how the speaker works.

I also personally checked multiple MacBooks at stores like Reliance Digital, Croma, and Vijay Sales, and they all had the same sound. Even my cousin’s old HP laptop had a similar buzzing sound in certain songs.

Apple support also contacted the service center on my behalf, and they again confirmed that this is normal for MacBook speakers. But I still feel confused because you said it’s not normal. Can you explain why you think !!!

The Files Are the Culprit:

If it is giving you issues on your PC and other devices, then it is likely the files themselves that you are playing.

I tested the same audio files on my soundbar, and they play perfectly fine without any buzzing or distortion. So, the issue is definitely not with the files themselves. The buzzing sound is still there on my MacBook speakers, especially on high-pitched notes like piano sounds or vocals. It happens even at mid-volume and doesn't qo away. I also checked other MacBooks, and they all seem to have a similar sound, but I'm not sure if it's normal or if my unit has a bigger issue. I already contacted Apple Support, and they told me it's expected behavior and not a defect. But I still feel something is off, and I don't know whether to believe them or push for a replacement. Since you said this isn't normal, what do you think I should do next ?

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check for an AASP near me. But before that, I just want to be sure-if Apple Support already told me this is expected behavior and not a defect, is there any chance an AASP would say something different? Have you seen cases where an AASP acknowledged this as an issue and provided a fix or replacement? I just don't want to go there, explain everything again, and hear the same response from them. So I want to know if it's worth trying

Q1. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check for an AASP near me. But before that, I just want to be sure-if Apple Support already told me this is expected behavior and not a defect, is there any chance an AASP would say something different?

A1. You’ll have to ask the AASP what they have to say on this. AFAIK, an AASP has no direct affiliation with Apple, and they’d have their own Terms & Conditions. So, Google their name, and then see if they have a homepage and overview what people have mentioned regarding their services and performance,

Q2. Have you seen cases where an AASP acknowledged this as an issue and provided a fix or replacement? I just don't want to go there, explain everything again, and hear the same response from them. So I want to know if it's worth trying

A2. No. Not officially this bug. But, many AASPs will service older devices and will service things that Apple will not.
