No. Configure what you believe you will need during the order build process. This advice despite a proliferation of Internet posts that suggest you may be able to upgrade the SSD — because they don't care if you forfeit your Mac Mini 1-year warranty and the optional AppleCare+ warranty coverage.

memory on m1-2-3-4 chips are a part of the cpu packet, and can never be changed without changing the whole cpu (which is not an update I believe apple offer in any form)

tare down sites show that the ssd can be changed, but it would without a doubt void the warranty if done by anyone but apple and also I don't believe it's an upgrade they offer

you can try to reach out to their official support channels to verify if what I write is official apple policy

Trying to upgrade the SSD would almost certainly result in destroying your Mac unless you are an extremely proficient technician and would certainly void your warranty.

In any case it is not necessary.

Simply buy a massive NVMe in a Thunderbolt housing and you will have a faster drive than any of Apple's at a quarter the price and with more flexibility . . . if you ever sell your Mac you keep the drive for the next one and should your Mac ever die you still have most of your data.
