iMac is running, but I can’t use the mouse, nor can I use the keyboard.

I’m looking at a friends older iMac and whilst it turns on, I can’t access anything. Tye screen seems to be stuck and restarting it does nothing. It defaults back to this screen. Any ideas how to fix this?

the mouse is charged as it works on another iMac.

If your friend has a rechargeable Magic keyboard and mouse, connect them to the iMac using the charging cables.

If your friend has the older AA battery powered keyboard and mouse, connect a USB keyboard and mouse to the iMac.

Also note:

1) most any generic or pc keyboard and mouse will work with the iMac.

2) a wireless keyboard and mouse can only be connect to one computer at a time.
