iTunes crashes when disconnecting device if WiFi sync is off on device

Recently iTunes started crashing regularly on my Windows 11 system. What I've figured out is that if I connect a device via USB and sync, iTunes crashes when I disconnect the device IF Wifi Sync is off on the device. If I turn WiFi sync on, all seems well.

I've seen this with my iPhone 12 mini, my 3rd Gen iPad Air, and my last (grr) Gen iPod Touch.

Windows 11 is totally updated. Occurs with both iTunes v12.13.4.4 and 12.13.6.1

Anyone else see this? Thoughts? Prayers?

When I plug my iPhone in and sync with WiFi off, the iTunes process CPU utilization goes from near 0 to around 8%, then drops back to 0-ish when done, and I can disconnect without crashing.

When I plug my iPad Air or iPad Touch in and sync with WiFi off, the iTunes process CPU utilization goes from near 0 to around 8% and stays there when done. When I disconnect, CPU utilization jumps again, to around 15% and stays there while iTunes locks up. I have to kill the process.
