Grey box visible when photos are taken on iPhone

when I take a photo there is a grey pixel/box over some of them. It doesn’t matter if the photo is live or not. When I scribble over the photo the box disappears. I tried uploading the photo but when it uploaded the box disappeared again.

Black rectangles on photos Some of the photos on my iphone 16 pro max are appearing totally black in camera roll, then after zooming in some of the image will appear but with a black rectangle covering part of it. Phone feels generally slow too, saddening considering I upgraded from an old broken phone which felt smoother to use than this. Hoping software updates can fix this. Or is it a hardware issue?

Why are there black squares in my iPhone photos? Black squares and rectangles sometimes appear in the photos in the gallery during the day after shooting. They take a third photo or more photos. Everything is fine during the shooting. Updates are installed by the latest ones proposed by the system. Photo synchronization with iCloud is disabled.
