Photo info window doesn't stay visible.

I am trying to copy down the metadata of a few photos but whenever I click on another app the info window disappears.

For example, I select a photo. Click the "I" for the info window to open. I move to the Safari window or Notes with the photo still open and the info pop-up vanishes. It reappears when I put the curser back on the photo.

Why won't it stay visible? One source said it was by design and not a bug but it seems pretty unintuitive to have it designed that way.

It does this whether the photo is in a desktop folder or if it's in the Photos app.

Is there a way to keep it open/visible? ps -- it's not hidden behind another window/app it just goes invisible.

That is unfortunately by design. Only the main window will stay open, when we switch to a different app, but all panels will be hidden.

I am taking a screenshot of the Info and open the screenshot in Preview, when I want to copy data from the Info panel to Info to a different app. In the screenshot I can select all text at once in Preview. It is a tedious workaround, but at least Prewiew will open the screenshot in the main window, so I can see it in another app.

You may want to send feedback to Apple to make it more user friendly. Feedback - Photos - Apple
