iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 15
The iPhone 7 Plus ran iOS 10 when it came out. It received five major iOS updates, but iOS 15 is the end of the line.
PS: Apple will not see your displeasure in this user-to-user forum. Neither will developers
No, you need to tell the developers at the apps to continue to support older iOS versions.
Let's say that the developers at XYZ App decide that they will only allow iPhones that are running iOS 16 to work with their app. When they do this, they abandon all of the users who cannot run iOS 16 on their phone.
The app developers could allow their new app to run on your iPhone 7, but they have chosen not to. So, this was a decision made by the app developers......not Apple.
I actually do, so instead of being arrogant, simply say that iPhone 7+ is not longer compatible with iOS 16. This means buy a new phone so you can download bank apps t mobile Norton security etc.
The End!

Regarding the compatibility of your device with newer iOS versions, it should be understood that devices from earlier years, such as your phone from 2016, may not support the latest updates due to hardware limitations. Apple continually enhances its operating systems to integrate new features and improvements, which may require more advanced hardware than what older devices can provide.
If having access to the latest iOS updates is a priority for you, it might be worthwhile to consider upgrading to a newer iPhone model, such as the iPhone 16e. This would ensure that you have the capability to run the latest software efficiently and take full advantage of new features and security enhancements, while being a powerful budget phone.
Why you need higher iOS is not clear to me. My iPhone 6 is on iOS 12.5.7 and still running.
You do realize that the iPhone 7 came out almost 9 years ago, right?
Do you have any concept of how far the technology has advanced since then?
@ Bob..genius!
Re: “simply say that iPhone 7+ is not longer compatible with iOS 16”
That would be inaccurate, as it would imply that there was a time when the iPhone 7 Plus was compatible with iOS 16.
simply say that iPhone 7+ is not longer compatible with iOS 16.
iPhone 7 Plus was never compatible with iOS 16.
FYI: Norton security is complete garbage and a total waste on an iPhone.
