AirPods fit check says they're not in my ears

Air pods 2 pro are In my ears but fit check says not in my ears
yet they work other wise
battery level is 39%
I had them for week without issue
In a quiet area too

Where did you purchase those AirPods? Were they new or used? Charge them all the way then try the test again.
