How do I fix Siri's voice recognition on my iPhone 12 mini?
Most of the time I have to speak very loudly or Siri does not respond. Is there a setting I can change?

Hi Zachyy. Thanks for responding so quickly. My device (iphone 12 mini) with the latest iOS update does not seem to have ‘Talk and Type’. Instead it has a Talk to Siri:
‘hey Siri’
or ‘hey Siri ‘ and ‘Siri’
or OFF.
along with a switch for
‘press side button for Siri’.
Separately, Type to Siri on my device is also Boolean (on or off) but it’s related to whether side button Siri is enabled (above).
so I wish my user interface would match what you describe but it does not.
Perhaps I should disable the side button. Then off/on as you describe. I’ll try that and get back to you.
You were on the right page as shown in your screenshot. Do get back to me though.
Turn OFF Talk to Siri as opposed to Hey Siri or Siri or just Hey Siri.
Then turn it back on and you'll be prompted to read aloud things on the screen. It will reset Siri listening to you.

You're welcome. I hope things are working now.
Go to Settings > Siri > Talk and Type to Siri > Turn it off then back on. This will give you a set of prompts for you to verbally read aloud, which will help Siri better respond to your voice.
I see now. Turning Talk to Siri, Off then On activates the reset. Logically and functionally that part made sense. But visually I was confused by the layout.
I was an early adapting Mac user, and just defaulted to looking for GUI elements, but instead it’s all text (except the side button)😑 what the current UI inclined me think was on/off only enabled me to choose one or the other selection. Like On = I want to choose between those two or Off = I don’t want to choose between those two, just give me defaults (I admit to overthinking). With its current layout and no GUI, it didn’t look to my eyes like a master switch.
Thank you @lobsterghost1 and @Zachyy I appreciate the redirect.
Z, see my post above. To get to reading the statements, you have to turn it off, then back on.
So I managed to reset Siri but it’s still slow to respond and doesn’t even hear me many many times. It’s frustrating.
