How to prevent automatic capitalization after periods in Dictation on iPhone?

While dictating, periods are often entered without prompting. The next word is capitalized, which is annoying and makes dictation not worthwhile. If a replacement option could simply be the non-capitalized word it would be great. Sorry if this has already been fully discussed elsewhere.
