Disney+ app no longer showing 4K / UltraHD content

I've noticed recently that the Disney+ app isn't showing the 4K or UHD or UltraHD tag on any movie or show, when using my Apple TV 4K (which I bought a couple of months ago).

I've watched multiple movies on Disney+ in amazing 4K quality on my Apple TV but since 2 days ago I noticed that I can't play anything in 4K anymore.

Has anyone noticed this? Let me know please if you have any thoughts on what I can do besides what I've done already:

- Restart Apple TV

- Recheck connections and test HDMI cables

- Check monitor

- Reinstall Disney+ app

- Log off and on again from Disney+ app

- Check other streaming apps in 4K (Netflix, Prime, YouTube and Apple work great)

Please verify your data usage setting for the Disney+ app, as that may lower the quality.

Find this in App Settings within the Disney+ app.

  • Automatic: Up to 4K supported
  • Moderate: Up to 1080p supported
  • Save data: SD supported

Good question. It's their content being streamed on their subscripion channel so it's a question that can only be answered by Disney. One would think if they are having technical difficulties they would make notice. The only other suggestion I can make at this time is to do a search to see if anything related comes up.

If someone else here knows why I hope they can add to this discussion so check back.
