Not all apps in the App Store require microphone access.
Apps that involve voice input, audio recording, or communication (such as voice assistants, messaging apps, and recording apps) will typically request microphone access. However, many other apps—such as games, reading apps, productivity tools, and utility apps—do not require access to the microphone at all.
Additionally, Apple requires apps to request explicit user permission before accessing the microphone. Users can manage these permissions in Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone and revoke access at any time.
