How do I upgrade macOS Sonoma 14.7.4 without upgrading to Sequoia on M1 iMac?

Hi: I have an IMac with the M1 chip and 4 gb RAM.

I am currently running Sonoma 14.7.4 and would like to stay on that OS and keep up with updates, especially security updates. However, the System Software Update function in System Settings is only giving me the option to upgrade to Sequoia 15.3.2, rather than simply update the Sonoma OS.

Does anyone know how to update the Sonoma OS?

Thanks!

Minor adjustment if you please

There was an Update to Sonoma that appeared at about 10:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time on March 31. 2025

This is no April Fools joke

Current Sonoma is now About the security content of macOS Sonoma 14.7.5

If you run the Software Update Applet

Yes it may offer Sequoia 15.4

You would need to scroll down in that presentation to see the Sonoma 14.7.5 update

Always make a Time Machine Backup  before doing any upDates / upGrades

Your current system version Sonoma 14.7.4 ist the last version of Sonoma, so there is nothing to update right now, other than upgrading to Sequoia. If there should be security updates for Sonoma, you should be seeing them in the software update notifications.
