I cannot see my voicemail messages on my new phone. is it possible that deleting my voicemail messages on one iPhone would delete my voicemail messages on another iPhone?

Voicemail is a carrier service. Check with your carrier for details.
Many people mistakenly believe that it is actually their phone recording the calls on Voicemail. That is not the case and the carrier is the one actually recording the call on their servers. The phone simply gets a notification when one is available.

Is that strictly true since live voicemail became a thing?
