iTunes to iPad, iPad puts songs in a different order

I've tried everything I can think of to make my new iPad play my yoga routine in the correct order, they are in correct order on iTunes, but the iPad will not reflect the order they are in

it took dozens of times, I experimented with renaming them

the arrangements of songs show in the itunes window is not the same as the arrangement on the iPad

note, I finally did get them in order but, it took so much time, is there some setting I am missing?

I don't have this problem with m iPhone or iPod

the iPad, it's a little slow and dull compared to both... takes a lot to "wake" it

long pauses before it takes an action and, does not pair well with iTunes...

is there some setting that effects this?

thanks

A common cause of tracks within an album being in a different order on a device is an inconsistent use of Disc X of Y values. 1 of 1 and <Blank> of <Blank> may variously come first or last in the two contexts. A playlist, sorted by ascending play order, should give the same order in both cases.

That old thing of 1, 10, 11 suggests an alphabetic sort on character values rather than a numeric sort. That's why track numbers in file names usually have leading zeros so that the alphabetic sort gives the same order that a numeric sort would. See https://samsoft.org.uk/itunes/grouping.asp for some more background on organizing content with iTunes. In general every track should have a unique track number, and if there are disc numbers (for a multi-disc album) they should be used consistently. If it is a single disc album then the disc numbers should either be set to Disc 1 of 1 for all tracks, or Disc <Blank> of <Blank>. For multi-disc albums no two tracks should have matching disc and track numbers.
