Texts going to iPad email and not phone number.

My wife has an iPad with a completely separate iCloud account from her iPhone. I did something on her iPad and sent it to myself through iMessage. Since then when I text her it goes to her iPad and not her iPhone. However, if she text me from her phone I am able to reply to her phone for a little bit. If I take to long between the reply it will once again go to her iPad. I have deleted all of our text conversations including her contact information from my phone and the issue remains. If I try to start a new conversation just using her phone number it directly reverts to the iPad email. I have checked my send and receive messages on my phone, her phone, and her iPad. All three are setup accordingly. What can I do? I am at a loss and it’s delaying important conversations between us on a daily basis. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
