Unable to use Apple Pencil 1st gen with my iPads

I have a brand-new, unused Apple Pencil (1st generation) in perfect condition, but unfortunately, its not compatible with either of my iPads. When I tried to set it up, both devices displayed an ‘Accessory Not Supported‘ message. Would it be possible to trade it in for an Apple Pencil (2nd generation), which is compatible with my iPads?

Apple's trade-in programme doesn't extend to accessories - such as Apple Pencil. Your best option might be to consider selling the Pencil privately - and put whatever money you can get for it towards a Pencil that is compatible with your current iPad.

For information, here is Apple's definitive compatibility list for Apple Pencil and iPad:

in some countries there is a 14 days return for full refund no questions asked

if it a thing in your country you can use that

otherwise you can reach out to their official support channels for options
