How can I recover missing photos after iPhone upgrade?

I traded in my old iphone XR and currently now have a iphone 16. When I traded in my old phone they said it has been successfully backup and the data will transfer by the end of day. But it has been 2 weeks and I am missing some photos and imessages. I asked apple support and they said because the sync didn't finish due to my iphone having not enough storage, but I bought icloud with 2TB. And they check to see that my old iphone has around 14GB of backup data, but current iphone 16 has only 9GB. So they said the data could be there. But they told me since my phone doesn't have enough storage the sync stopped and I need to unsync this iphone and download the photos and video, but I dont have enough raw storage. Is there a way to just speciafilly transfer the rest of the backup data like my missing photos and imessages than downloading everything and unsync and sync again?

Transferring to a New iPhone:

Quick Start:

When transferring, Quick Start is what should have been performed. This is the link to use: Use Quick Start to Transfer Data to a New iPhone or iPad - Apple Support. So, if you still have this phone (despite saying you’ve traded in), reset your new iPhone to factory settings, and then perform Quick Start transfer.

Troubleshooting Lost Photos and Videos:

Loss of data is something you would have agreed to upon opening an Apple Account. So, if the following does not work, then they are gone. That's just the way it is :(

Four Tactics to Try:

A. Start here: If you're Missing Photos or Videos in the Photos app - Apple Support

B. Check iCloud, Directly:

For Photos: Go here, and see if they reside in iCloudhttps://www.icloud.com/photos

C. Restore your iPhone from a Backup:

Have any backups of this iPhone prior to this occurrence? If so, restore your iPhone from one that has these photos (the most recent backup, ideally). If not, then take this as a learning experience, knowing to always back up your device for recovery purposes. Important: Back up you iPhone prior to performing this restoration, should anything go wrong from here on out.

D. Where Else to Check:

  1. PC
  2. PDA
  3. eMail
  4. Mac Device
  5. Cloud Storage
  6. Android Phone
  7. USB Flash Drive
  8. External Hard drive
  9. Secure Digital Card
  10. Compact Flash Card
