Text messages won’t open and ask for contacts

Sometimes I get text messages from a number. It’s usually my doctors office. Lately, whenever I get a text that’s a number a message pops up saying this it not in your contacts. I have to enter the number in my contacts, then it will open. It never used to be like that. I don’t want these numbers in my contacts.
