How do I connect AirPods to TV via Bluetooth transmitter?

Just about to purchase pro 2 AirPods.

Sometimes (usually when I don’t want to wake my wife), i watch the TV while listening through wired headphones. Would it be possible, presumable using some kind of Bluetooth headphone transmitter, to listen using the AirPods instead.

If so, can the AirPods pair with more than just the iPhone?

If so, how would I switch from listening via the iPhone to the bt transmitter?

I’m in the UK.

Thanks for any help.

Bernie

Thanks that's a useful article.

I did try to find answers via Google, but apparently the Pro 2's don't always connect or only one AirPod has sound etc.... Trouble is most solutions (like the one you linked to), just say AirPods so you don't know which version or gen they're referring to.

Will go ahead and make the purchase of AirPods and BT transmitter and will report back afterwards.

I discovered that my LG TV already has bluetooth, so I didn't require a transmitter.

I purchased some AirPods 2 Pro, they paired and connected to my TV ok, but there was no sound. I tried an older pair of bluetooth headphones, they worked ok, so I've returned the AirPods 2 Pro to Apple, and will try AirPods 4.

I'm guessing it's possible because we successfully connected my Dad's hearing aids to his TV via a transmitter. I googled your question and suggest you do so, too. This is on of the articles I found.

If you try it and it works, please, let us know. I know I'd be interested in this, too.

Thanks for letting us know. And please report back regarding the airpods 4. Others may benefit from your solution.

No audio from AirPods 4 either, though they pair and connect with my LG TV with no problem, so a bit disappointing.

My 2 other older bluetooth headphones continue to work fine with my TV.

That's disappointing. But it is a matter of which systems LG is willing to set their system to work with. But thanks again for the update.
