How do I fix iMac printing in negative to HP ENVY Inspire printer?

I have a iMac using Sequoia 15.3.2 that sometimes prints in the negative (in greyscale) to a HP Envy Inspire printer. Anyone solved this?

If you are using a printing app supplied by HP then you need to look in the app for its settings. Otherwise you will need to contact the HP developers for support. ALL third party devices (printers, scanners, etc...) drivers are supplied by the device manufacturer, Apple does not write these. This means when they malfunction or you have questions, to please contact the developer developer's support.

You can also just Google your question, something like: " HP Envy Inspire printing in negative Mac" and see if you can find a solution. I did just that for you and found the following:

1. Check Printer Settings in the Print Dialog:

  • Open the document you want to print.
  • Go to File > Print or press Ctrl+P.
  • In the Print dialog box, click on Properties or Preferences.
  • Look for any settings related to color options.
  • Ensure that options like "Negative" or "Invert Colors" are not selected.

Good luck!

If the problem persists then try some basics such as restarting the computer in Safe Mode. If that still does not fix the issue you can post back, if you have any of the following types of third party apps installed they should be uninstalled ASAP per the developers instructions as they do NOTHING that Mac doesn't already do and they tend to create more problems than they ever solve.

  • Antivirus
  • Security
  • Cleaning
  • VPN
  • Maintenance

Give this a try: boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and test to see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE 1: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

NOTE 2: if you have a wireless keyboard with rechargeable batteries connect it with its charging cable before booting into Safe Mode. This makes it act as a wired keyboard as will insure a successful boot into Safe Mode.
