I’m sorry to hear that your iPhone was stolen. Tracking a stolen iPhone when Find My iPhone is off and the device is offline is challenging. Unfortunately, IMEI tracking typically requires working with law enforcement or your carrier, as Apple does not offer a public way for users to track a phone using the IMEI number.

Here are a few steps you can take:

1. Contact Your Carrier:

• Reach out to your mobile service provider. They may be able to lock the phone or blacklist it using the IMEI number, preventing it from being used with other carriers.

2. Report the Theft to Law Enforcement:

• Provide the police with the IMEI number and any other relevant details. They might be able to track the phone through local authorities or request assistance from the carrier.

3. Check with Apple Support:

• While Apple doesn’t offer IMEI tracking directly, they can lock your device using your Apple ID, which can prevent anyone from accessing your personal information.

4. Monitor Your iCloud Account:

• Keep an eye on your iCloud account for any suspicious activity. You can also change your Apple ID password to prevent unauthorized access to your apps, purchases, or iMessages.

5. File an Insurance Claim (if applicable):

• If you have phone insurance or AppleCare+, file a claim for a replacement device.

To help prevent future issues, remember to enable Find My iPhone and iCloud backup as soon as you get a new device. Additionally, consider setting up an IMEI tracker app if available in your area for future reference.

If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask!

  • You cannot track the phone using your IMEI. The only way is with FindMy.
  • Did you have Find My turned off or are you assuming it is off because it shows as offline?

Your device will show offline when the battery is dead, the phone is turned off, or if it is in an area that does not have an internet connection. If another phone comes within Bluetooth range, it is still possible for that phone to transmit the location, even if your phone is turned off.

  • No one can get into your device as long as you had a Passcode and did not respond to a phishing message to give your personal information to the thief.
  • You don't need to use any suggested IMEI Tracker. There is no advantage to that over FindMy and will be no benefit without Battery Power or a cell connection. In fact FindMy offers an advantage by being able to still allow tracking with the device turned off and also use the network of any other nearby iPhone.
