How do I unlock a disabled iPhone 5 using iTunes?

Somewhat frustrated with the level of service provided from the Apple Support Advisors today. Having found my old iPhone 5, I am faced with the "Your iPhone is disabled connect to iTunes" message. Have tried following various guides all unsuccessfully. I would appreciate any feedback to assist?

Even more frustrating is then you appear NOT to be able to complain to Apple.

Many thanks

I understand you’re frustrated, but we’re not Apple, just fellow users like yourself.

You ask for feedback, but you haven’t stated what issue you’re facing with your somewhat ancient iPhone. Please tell us what concerns or challenges you’re experiencing.

Often the real challenge on some posts is not really an issue of us not knowing the answer.....the real issue is trying to figure out what the user is really asking.

I doubt that things will change much in this regard.

I suspect you are right!

Did you follow the directions in this link --> If you forgot your iPhone passcode or your iPhone is disabled - Apple Support

Even if you get back in the phone, the experience is going to be hugely disappointing. It is forever frozen at iOS 10.3.4, which means most modern apps simply won't run on such an old device.

It's difficult when we get a message to the effect that you have tried "everything" and nothing is working.

Let's start with "why" the message that you see is appearing. This is very likely a result of the wrong passcode that has been entered too many times, so the phone has locked out, will need to be erased and then set up again....which may or may not be possible since you will be trying to activate a very old phone.

It's also important to note that even if the phone can be set up to work again, you will not be able to access any of the data that was stored on the phone.

So, before we go through another long chapter of "try this" and "try that", could you please tell us what your real goal might be here? We are not going to be able to help you retrieve or get at any of the data on the phone.

I should have mentioned the part about the phones data all being wiped in the process. So yes, if the author is hoping to get access to the data which was on the phone before it became disabled, that's not going to happen.
