One can switch from All to Web below the browser search window once the AI search results are shown to dismiss it, or appending &udm=14 to the search string will gag the AI results. These are per-search bandaids.
how to disable Google AI search&udm=14
I have seen posts on Reddit that suggest going to Google's Search Labs and opting out of AI Search but there is nothing I found there to achieve opt-out. There is a UDM14 add-on for Firefox that adds another search engine entry in Firefox's settings that also automatically suppresses the AI results.
Consider using a different search engine. Google hasn't been a very good choice for years.
For example, DuckDuckGo's search results allow you to customize its AI summary to your liking, including disabling it completely. The method is trivial and obvious. Which browser you use is not related to that ability; it works the same way in Safari, Firefox, Opera, Brave (which also offers its own proprietary search engine) and probably others.
Go to https://www.google.com/ and check "Settings" to see if there is anywhere to turn it off. If not, you have to talk to Google. It has nothing to do with Apple or Firefox.
