I recently got an iPhone 16 through Verizon. I currently have Verizon's Wireless Phone Protection. I have a few more weeks to add Apple's AppleCare+. Which is better, Verizon's Wireless Phone Protection, or Apple's AppleCare+? Thank you.

Yep, BEST ADVICE. Just buy AppleCare+. It's the ONLY way to know you'll get authentic Apple parts if you need a repair or a replacement phone. I once bought the AT&T insurance for an iPhone. It wasn't a great experience and something I'd personally never do again.

I had insurance through Verizon at some point before Apple offered coverage for damage. It was fine. However, I did hear of people having issues subsequently getting Apple to service the replacement phones because they had been refurbished by someone else.

I had an iPad Pro screen replacement done. Walked in, they gave be a replacement and I walked out. Took all of about 10 minutes and $20 deductible payment.
It seems to be very good coverage at a competitive price. Two interesting features are unlimited zero deductible cracked/broken glass replacements. Apple has a deductible, and limits the number of repairs on a calendar basis.
They also offer global coverage and expedited service when outside the US.
They list loss, theft and damage, but zero details on deductibles, repairs etc. I have questions regarding damage coverage, but no details, which I find odd. Price $7.99 a month is competitive.

I assume you are talking about Verizon?
My one concern is I don't think it covers batteries.

One of the things that used to be true of Verizon's coverage is that if they need to replace your phone, they will replace it with a refurbished one (Apple does the same) but it may not be one that is refurbished by Apple. This shouldn't make a difference, but it's worth knowing.

Basically, every month, for 3 years, they charge me for the new phone, and subtract the trade-in amount, with the net cost being $0 per month. My concern is, if I drop Verizon's coverage and go with Apple's coverage, that I would lose that deal, since the phone I would have would no longer match the phone Verizon thinks I have. But I am also concerned about Verizon coverage possibly being inferior to Apple's coverage.

If you maintain Apple Care, you have the advantages of it for as long as you have it.

I missed the deadline for AppleCare+. I really need AppleCare+ rather than Verizon's garbage insurance since I need the battery coverage. Am I completely out of luck now? Or any way I can add AppleCare+ after the deadline? I know it's my own fault, but it's still frustrating.

If you've missed the deadline, you've missed the deadline. Apple doesn't make exceptions.
