Clip in picture broke off from below board

Clip where this cord plugs into broke off from below board. Is this repairable / would the computer work without this?

From the modified picture I cannot tell which battery connection you are referring or if this is a picture of your own laptop or a picture you got online to show that section.

Is it the "clip" with the big T5 screw? If so, then no, the battery won't work without it since it is the main battery connection.

Is it the flip connector for the flex cable? If so, then it is technically possible to reinstall it, but it is very difficult to reinstall the flip connector.....and it will always be difficult to open & close it without it flying off again. If you don't have that small part, then you would need to get one from a donor board. You may need several since it is extremely difficult to reinstall it and you are likely to lose them as they go flying into the ether never to be seen again.

I've never tried disconnecting just that main battery connection with the big T5 screw, so I don't know for sure. I know that if both the big T5 screw is connection is disconnected and the battery flex cable is disconnected, then the laptop is useless since it will most likely have severe performance issues (I had a laptop that took over an hour to boot to the login screen, another one never made it after several hours, but another one made is in maybe 15 minutes).
