Why did my Mac just ask for my iPad PIN?

Hi, everyone. I've recently updated my Apple PW, so I wasn't surprised when my Mac said I couldn't access iCloud and needed to reenter my PW. I did that, and it then sent an MFA code to my iPhone. Entered that. Then it asked for my iPad PIN. What's that about? I entered it -- seemed legit -- and then the red circle alert on my account went away, and I seem to be linked to my account. But should I be worried that it asked for my iPad PIN? Thanks!

It's completely normal for Apple to ask for your iPad PIN when you're updating your Apple ID password. They're just verifying your identity across devices as part of the multi-factor authentication process. No need to worry—it's a security measure to make sure everything's legit. If you're ever unsure, you can always check your Apple ID devices in Settings to confirm everything's good to go.
