Apple Watch Ultra 2 - heart rate doesn’t read during runs for up to 6 minutes

For the last several weeks the heart rate monitoring on my ultra 2 won’t read for up to 6 minutes during runs. It can be tread runs or outdoor runs. I’ve worn different bands on the top or bottom of my wrist.

i have factory reset -> setup as new and even received a replacement through support and Genius Bar and the replacement even does the same. There was another post from 2022 reporting the same issue.

im convinced it’s either a firmware issue with the heart rate sensor or it’s an os issue.

i should note that the hardware all tested fine through apple diagnostics and I also just received the 11.4 update last night and on my run this morning it was still an issue. see attached image.

when will this be addressed? Clearly there is something wrong but apple support is just telling folks to factory reset and then throwing up their hands.

this ultra watch is marketed as the ultimate fitness watch but I only run and this is sub par.
